Mother’s Day gift guide
Your mum’s the best, and you want to let her know. But what to get the woman that taught you all of life’s most valuable information – like why you can’t see dinosaurs at the zoo, and how to set up a monthly direct debit? You want to find her a present that she’ll love, after all the years she’s spent trying to find that birthday or Christmas present you just had to have (light up trainers were always top of the list).
The problem with getting mum a present is she’s fussy – she knows what she likes and if you don’t get it right, you’ll see a close female relative with a suspiciously identical present for their next birthday. Luckily, we’ve pulled together some top picks this Mother’s Day that she’s sure to love. And the best bit? We’ve organised them so you can find the best gift for your budget.
Up to £30
Not got a huge budget to blow? No problem! Our selection of on board jewellery will make sure that Mum’s got a smile as bright as a diamond without sacrificing on quality. If you’re feeling sentimental, the Aura Friendship Bracelet with Swarovski Crystals (£15) is sure to melt her heart. Alternatively, for mums who already have a sparkling collection, the elegant Estella Bartlett Mini Jewellery Box is perfect to keep those treasures safe on her travels.
£30 to £50
If in doubt, a new perfume is a failsafe way to treat mum to something special – but try and think about what she likes, rather than the one that has the prettiest bottle. For Mums that tend to opt for something soft and floral, Gucci Bloom’s (£43) notes of natural tuberose and jasmine are subtly rich and will be sure to take centre stage on her dressing table. For those that prefer something a little more distinctive, the new Mugler Aura (£39.50) scent features an oriental fragrance and botanical freshness with lots of energy.
If you don’t quite trust yourself choosing a fragrance, however, a little bit of arm candy never goes amiss. Radley’s Watch It! (£35) wrist watch is streamlined and dainty and works just as well for work as it does for the evening, so she can pair it up whichever way she likes. Top tip: set the hands a few minutes too slow – she’ll never know when you’re late to meet her for lunch again!
50 to £100
If she’s a woman of style, the Ted Baker Large Matinee Purse (£68) is sure to catch her eye in dreamy tones of rose gold – plus, when she comes to check if it’s actually practical, she’ll find lots of room for cards, coins and cash. If she likes to be a little more understated but appreciates a classic look, our on board Marc Jacobs Sunglasses (£90) with a feminine cat eye shape will have her ready for some spring sunshine.
