Johnny Neill comes from a long line of distillers. While most of the inspiration for his gins comes from various ancestors’ intrepid exploits abroad, this Rhubarb and Ginger Gin developed out of fond memories made slightly closer to home. The Whitley family cultivated their garden in rural England with thrilling flavours, serving as inspiration for both the table and their experimentation with new gins, and Johnny’s latest gin evokes his childhood memories of visiting his grandparents. He’s taken a firm Whitley family favourite – rhubarb – and added a warm twist with the addition of fresh ginger. The result? Rhubarb adds a tart crisp edge to the smooth English gin base, while the ginger extract warms the palate for a full-bodied finish. Try it with ginger ale and a slice of orange.
